A Black Day by the Black Sea

A suicide attack against tourists yesterday killed six and injured dozens.

Israeli civilians (many teenagers) were targeted in an appalling attack of savagery, thought to have been carried out by Iranian proxy, Hezbollah.

Around 5pm local time, a bomb was detonated on board a bus shuttling holiday makers from Sarafovo Airport in the popular Black Sea resort of Burgas to local hotels. Five Israeli’s and a Bulgarian driver died in the explosion, an indiscriminate and chilling attack on innocent families.

Three Israelis remain in life-threatening conditions in hospitals in Sofia.

Responding to the bombing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that it was

perpetrated by Hezbollah, Iran’s leading terrorist proxy

and part of

a global campaign of terror carried out by Iran and Hezbollah

U.S. President Barack Obama called for justice, describing the attack as, “barbaric” and “completely outrageous.”

Please pray for the victims and their families, for those receiving treatment in Bulgaria and Israel, for the physically injured, the bereaved and emotionally traumatised. Please pray for the safety of all Israelis at home and abroad, and an end to the specter of terrorism from Iran and its proxies.
